Husika's Newsletter
July-September 2023
Dear friends and partners,
We are delighted to share the latest edition of our quarterly newsletter.
As the seasons change, so does our commitment to keeping you informed and engaged with the latest developments and initiatives from our vibrant community.
Advocacy Training for Young Women Leaders
Participants Engaged in Breakout Groups.
These young leaders embarked on a journey of self-discovery, exploring their own leadership capacities and the critical roles they play in their communities. Self-examination was an important step in appreciating the distinctiveness of their voices and the invaluable contributions they make. The session went much further into the intricate methods of effective advocacy. The skills they acquired will help our participants communicate effectively, interact with stakeholders, and handle the challenges of change advocacy. Additionally, they learned the value of research and information gathering as a crucial instrument for constructing compelling arguments.
Emerging Leaders of Today
One of the participants sharing his perspectives.
The youth discussed the critical role they play in leadership, emphasizing the need to understand their role as "today's leaders." These lively debates attempted to change their perspectives of the ideal sort of youth leadership in our quickly changing society. Through these discussions, we explored how young people may actively participate in decision-making, advocate for their rights, and serve as catalysts for societal change.
Young Women’s Forum
A Participant Shares Their Group's Presentation with the Entire Team.
In a recent session, our young women's forum addressed the complex issue of domestic violence. The purpose was to debunk longstanding myths and throw doubt on commonly held opinions about this sensitive subject. Throughout the session, participants learned about the wide-ranging effects of domestic abuse and the underlying causes. Aside from personal anguish, participants discovered how this issue affects entire families and communities. The intricate patterns inherent in abusive relationships were also highlighted, as were the difficulties that commonly prevent survivors from getting help or revealing the abuse they are subjected to.
Quarterly Legal Outreach
The outreach took place in September and was focused on delivering ongoing legal services, ensuring that individuals in our community have access to the legal assistance they require. Furthermore, we remained committed to raising community knowledge about their rights and obligations, ensuring that every member is well-informed about the legal issues that affect their life. Beyond increasing awareness, our goal was to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to properly handle their legal difficulties.
